Poltekkes Kemenkes Yogyakarta Received “Best Health Polytechnic”

Poltekkes Kemenkes Yogyakarta was awarded the BEST HEALTH POLYTECHNIC as the most acclaimed health POLYTECHNIC with innovative learning programme of the year 2024, by 5 Pilar Media.  The award was presented at the 5 Pillars Media Award 2024 in Conferment Ceremony, at Kalasan Room, Grand Diamond Hotel, Yogyakarta. Apart from Poltekkes Kemenkes Yogyakarta, 24 other institutions/leaders/personalities from various fields such as banking, education, various companies and BUMD received this award. Representing the Governor of Yogyakarta were Etty Kumolowati, Expert Staff of the Governor of Yogyakarta for Social, Cultural and Community Affairs; Wasesa, SH, General Administration Assistant representing the Mayor of Yogyakarta; and Yuli Nurliana, SE, Akt (Chairman of 5 Pilar Media).

The purpose of this award is to bring together entrepreneurs, educational institutions, government and non-government institutions, and professionals to motivate the community, especially the award winners, to achieve the Golden Indonesia 2045. In addition, it is also to mobilise and cultivate togetherness between the government, educational actors, business community in the national environment so that they can always work together in development.

For Poltekkes Kemenkes Yogyakarta, this is the second award they have received from 5 Pillars Media after 2023. This award is a recognition from the public for the various innovations in the field of health worker education that Poltekkes Kemenkes Yogyakarta has carried out. As a public university under the Ministry of Health, Poltekkes Kemenkes Yogyakarta has always supported various government programmes, especially the Health Human Resources Transformation Programme. Poltekkes Kemenkes Yogyakarta was represented by the three Deputy Directors, Dr Yuni Kusmiyati (Wadir 1); Dr Agus Wijanarka (Wadir 2) and Dr Umi Istianah (Wadir 3).

The process and method of judging the award were based on several criteria: Awareness, Responsibility, Quality, Performance and Attractiveness. The attributes of assessment included the implementation of educational programmes; the results/realisation of the impact area activities; the sustainability of the innovative programme commitment and quality; and the ability to evolve following changes.

The selection procedure for the winners was carried out in several stages. In the first stage, the voting team from the representatives of associations and related institutions selected the agencies/names that they had received from departments/institutions and associations in the world of education. In the second stage, the team identified, examined, assessed, surveyed and justified the data of the names to be awarded. The voting team did not do direct interview with the candidates, but collected the information from the parents of the students, the alumni, the academic community, neighbourhood, and other communities about the development of the candidates and the quality of the education and training programmes of the candidates. In addition, after receiving various inputs and assessments from the voting team, an independent team from the Lembaga Nasional Prestasi Indonesia would re-review whether the institution had met the criteria or not and whether it was eligible to receive the award.
